DISCUSSION QUESTIONS WEEK 13 CHAPTER 28
1. We are told 72 times in the Bible (18 times in the New Testament) to obey God and His commandments. What does that tell you? What does that mean to you in your daily living?
2. 28:2 has that big little word, “IF”, placing the responsibility on us. Do we have any responsibility in our salvation? If so, what?
3. Compare 28:1-14 to John 14:23-27.
4. 28:3-14
a. Does God promise everlasting live in these verses? Would keeping the commandments give them second birth, the Holy Spirit?
b. If they were obedient and life was this good, would they look for a savior? Explain.
c. What would be the effect on the rest of the world if they were obedient (28:10) and were blessed with all the Blessings of 28: 3-14?
d. How are we blessed by following God? Do others see it? How do they react?

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS WEEK 14 CHAPTERS 29-30
1. In 29:2-3 God talks to them as if they were there in Egypt and saw with their own eyes what God did for their fathers and grandfathers. What did God do for your father and/or mother, your grandparents that has impacted you?
2. 29:4 says they were not given a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear. Describe a reaction you have receive when witnessing to someone the Lord has not prepared to listen.
3. The imagery in 29:18 is of a person, family, or tribe turning from God being a root baring poisonous fruit. Heb. 12:15 also says bitterness is a poisonous root. Poisonous in what sense? What is the effect on a church of a person or family who are bitter or who have rejected scripture?
4. What responsibilities do we have as rulers over all the earth? Can stewardship of the earth, sea and sky be taken too far? If so, how?
5. 30:6 says God will circumcise our hearts that we may live. What are some of the signs of a circumcised heart? (v.8, Gal. 22-23) How does having a circumcised heart help us live more abundantly, beyond God’s physical blessings (v.9)?
6. What are the 2 big “IF”s in v. 10?
7. The covenant is stated and restated in verses 15-18 and 19-20. The instructions seem simple. Why does God say the law brings about wealth? (Rom. 4:15) In what 2 ways has God compensated?
